I believe that every student learns differently, and my goal as a tutor is to make sure lessons are tailored to the individual. When working with a student, the first thing I like to do is identify the areas they find most challenging. By focusing on topics of struggle, I can break concepts down into smaller, manageable steps and explain them in a clear and simple way. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions and confident that we will work through problems together at their own pace.
A key part of my approach is using past paper practice. From my own experience as a university student, I know how important it is not just to understand the material, but also to apply it in the format it will be tested. Going through past papers allows students to see how questions are worded, spot recurring patterns, and build strong exam techniques. It also helps highlight knowledge gaps so we can target them directly. I encourage students to treat past papers as learning tools, not just assessments, so they become less intimidating and more valuable over time.
My teaching style is patient, supportive, and adaptable. I create a positive and encouraging environment where mistakes are seen as opportunities to learn. My aim is to turn struggles into strengths and help students gain the confidence to succeed academically. Ultimately, I want students to leave lessons not only with better knowledge but also with a stronger belief in their own ability.
