I have approximately nine years of experience teaching both General English and Academic English, in which I place a primary emphasis on the precision and fluency of my students' writing and speaking. In order to accomplish this goal, the majority of my lessons will concentrate on activating students' prior knowledge. This helps students better engage in the situation at hand and results in improved English language abilities produced by the students. In addition, the realistic settings that learners are already accustomed to can facilitate a smoother learning process for the students. I try to get my pupils to talk and express their ideas more in class so that they can feel more confident in themselves and experience less nervousness in the classroom. In most of my English classes, I take what is known as a top-down approach, which is more student-centered. This is due to the fact that I feel that language abilities are innate and are kept concealed someplace within a person. My approach to directing pupils toward achievement of their goals diverges from the conventional mode of instruction. I use flipped classrooms, in which I provide my students with access to videos of me teaching them how to improve their correctness in areas such as grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary before we meet in class. They will have additional opportunities to polish their language abilities through speaking activities in the classroom, including such controlled practise and freer practise.
