As a Fashion Design graduate from Falmouth University with a strong background in both technical and creative aspects of the subject, I bring a well-rounded approach to tutoring students in fashion and art. My own academic journey was hands-on and intensive, covering everything from initial concept development to garment construction and digital presentation. I understand the challenges students face when trying to bring their ideas to life, and I aim to guide them through that process with clarity, encouragement, and practical tips.
In tutoring sessions, I would focus on helping students develop strong foundational skills in areas such as pattern cutting, garment construction, and digital design using software like Adobe Illustrator and CLO-3D. I would encourage them to explore their own creative voices while offering structured feedback and industry-relevant techniques. My experience as an industrial sewing machinist and my work in retail settings also enable me to provide insight into real-world applications of fashion knowledge, from the production floor to consumer interaction.
I believe in making sessions interactive and tailored to each learner's needs—whether that’s refining sketchbook work, developing technical folders, or learning how to articulate concepts for a portfolio or final collection. I also have a deep interest in sustainable design and would enjoy helping students understand circular fashion principles and how to incorporate them meaningfully into their projects. My aim is not only to help students complete coursework but to build confidence and curiosity that will serve them throughout their creative careers. Above all, I want to make the learning experience enjoyable, supportive and inspiring for each student I work with.
