I have many experiences working with primary and secondary students. I have been a tutor for years 7 - 9, teaching them English and the core subjects. I believe in the need to accommodate every individual and that the same techniques may not work for everyone. I have done many one-to-one in the past and seen the great results it has brought in their work and in their classrooms. I like to start with simple techniques especially, if it's related to grammar, as it may discourage them from thinking it is difficult. Later try and challenge them with questions. I sometimes like to do activities with the students as it's fun and doesn't overwhelm them at first.
