In the past years, I have had the opportunity of working as a Senior University lecturer and Assistant Professor in one of the leading Russian Universities, as an English (ESOL) Lecturer in North-East College (Aberdeen, UK), as a Senior English Lecturer and a Team Leader for Foundation Department in TOP (The Oxford Partnership) Female Colleges and as an English (ESOL) Lecturer in Niagara College in Majmaah and Makkah Campuses in Saudi Arabia, as an ESOL Lecturer in Majmaah University, Riyadh Province, KSA. At present I am working at OxfordSaudia Flight Academy, which is based in Damman, KSA, as an online English Lecturer.
My teaching methods enable me to engage a diverse range of English learners to ensure positive learning outcomes by teaching to their individual strengths. I design the classroom language environment in such a way that it is sufficient to optimize speaking language, literacy, reading comprehension, grammar learning skills and provide better guidance to support students’ language development.
Right from the start of my lessons I initiate students’ motivation, and as a result, students are not struggling and being unmotivated. I organize class activities by carefully streaming the students according to their ability and at the same time taking into consideration their friendship. The fun and competitive environment which the observer can always find during my lessons is very much loved by the students, resulting in full their engagement. My learning aims and objectives are always challenging for my students. Appropriate support and scaffolding is always in place and at the right time during my classes enabling my mixed ability students to achieve quite high expectations I set for them. Even the most reluctant students are encouraged to respond by my careful scaffolding. One of the most effective strategies which I use especially in the mixed ability classes in order to keep the students constantly engaged throughout the lesson is giving the students choices about materials and activities. This undoubtedly gives students a sense of empowerment and naturally increases students’ motivation. I am very much committed to high quality teaching and learning and have consistently communicated my ideas and suggestions to the Foundation Department Chair and the Head of Teaching and Learning in all educational establishments I have worked either in the UK or KSA.
