I use day to day vocabulary, which is essential in communicating in different settings. Example. Making an appointment at the GP, attending a hospital appointment or going for a job interview. I use real life scenarios and role plays to enforce learning.
I choose a teaching style based on each students learning ability and input some fun element to make the lessons interesting.
I also will give students mini tests or quizes to check their progress as well as provide additional learning resources to improve their language skills.
