My main priority is catering my lessons to suit the learning style and needs of all my clients. I allow my clients to set their own objectives for lessons, whether that be a certain area of the syllabus they want to focus on or entire lessons on exam preparation. My typical lesson model is outlined below: I usually start lessons with a few recall questions to gauge how much content from last lesson was retained; I can provide summaries where needed. The majority of my lessons covers content suited to the pupils learning style and matched to their speed of learning. At the end of lessons I like to cover a few exam questions on the topics covered and give guidance on exam technique. For students who struggle to write exam questions I have previously made exam answer ‘writing-frames’ tailored to how many marks each question is. Lessons closer to exams will be more heavily focused on exam technique. Exercises can include bullet pointing exam answers; going through exam questions together and receiving feedback. In the case of exam questions exposing gaps in knowledge, there will be a revision of content and chance to improve exam questions on that topic in later lessons. I have tutored Geography, Economics and Politics for a year at A-level and GCSE level for a range of exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, iGCSE Edexcel). I have previously assisted in GCSE Math tutoring. My lesson availability is usually Saturdays and some evenings. I do not work Sundays.
