I begin by getting to know the student and understanding their current ability, goals and any areas they find challenging. This helps me tailor each lesson so the content is relevant and effective.

* Guided practice with examples and exam-style questions
* Time for questions and clarification
* A brief summary and optional practice tasks

I focus on building strong foundations and confidence, especially in GCSE Maths, by breaking topics down into manageable steps and encouraging students to explain their thinking. I adapt the pace depending on the student and regularly check understanding. From my experience as a tutor and a teaching assistant, I plan lessons carefully to meet curriculum goals while keeping sessions engaging and supportive. My background in coaching also means I help students with motivation and study habits, not just academic content.

I aim to create a calm and positive learning environment where students feel supported, motivated and able to make steady progress. I also place strong emphasis on clear communication and regular feedback, so students always know what they are doing well and where they can improve. I encourage independent thinking and problem-solving, helping students develop skills they can apply beyond exams. My goal is not only academic improvement, but also increase confidence, resilience, and a positive attitude towards learning.
