In my live lessons, I introduce the lesson objectives in the beginning with an introduction of the key terms, background of the theory/ study and then proceed by discussing research methods used in the psychological study, we discuss the probable outcome of the research. In the later half of the lesson, I use breakout rooms to make groups for the students where they can develop skills related to the topic taught through discussion with their peer group, doing the activity instructed e.g. make a poster/ presentation/ discussion points and pose questions to other peer groups. In sociology, we focus on different sociological perspectives and develop an understanding through chronological development of the concept. My sessions are usually based on person centred approach, and interactions within the class. While students are in breakout rooms, I join each breakout room at multiple stages to assess their skills and understanding of the topic. After the lesson, I set three homework tasts for each session, one is based on the worksheet that is usually MCQs, short answers or applying the research techniques, one extended exam question and the last one on the Quizlet, where the learners are able to revise using flashcard and later on complete a test.
The case studies are usually evaluated to apply the results of the previous studies. Discussion forum with poling is integrated in my lessons to engage students in an interactive way. The students can ask questions at any time to understand the concepts and analyse them accordingly.
