Experienced Maths tutor (ages 7–16) with 5+ years’ experience supporting students in schools, tutoring organisations and privately.

I design lessons to be engaging and purposeful, helping students understand not only how to solve a problem but why each method works. After a friendly diagnostic session, I create an individual action plan that focuses on the topics where support is most needed.

Each lesson begins with a quick review of homework to strengthen retention and identify any gaps in knowledge still present. We then move into clear, practical explanations of the next topic followed by guided practice using questions that match their exam board’s style and difficulty. This ensures students gain exam confidence while building strong long-term understanding.

Over the past five years, I’ve worked with a wide range of learners from different year groups, backgrounds and ability levels, including those who needed additional encouragement and support. This experience has strengthened my ability to adapt and stay creative in my explanations, tailoring them to each child’s learning style.

By working to address student and parental concerns and in collaboration with teacher reports where available, I aim to target areas of weakness while maintaining strengths. Parents value the reassurance of seeing consistent progress and clear communication, while students appreciate feeling understood, supported and motivated.

Above all, I want every child to finish their sessions not only with better grades, but with the belief that they can succeed in maths because with patience, the right tools, and support to build good study habits, every learner can thrive.
