I have taught in both primary schools and secondary schools. The most challenging of all the experiences I have had is teaching in secondary school.I was assigned to prepare the final year students for their senior school certificate examination(SSCE) in English language and Literature in acheive this task,I had to learn and relearn which eventually prepared me for the my record,my students always have excellent results in their English Language and Literature in English.
I always try to break whatever I teach the student down to the barest. This enables the students to assimilate fast. Also,my class is always students oriented:there is always interactions between myself and the students. This enables the students to ask questions which I always give answers to.It also enables me to ask them m the questions asked by me and the responses gotten from them,I get to know their strengths and weaknesses. All weakness observed will always be treated before proceeding to the next topic.
When the class is student centered, you get the best out of all thing I know for sure is that every student has the ability to learn. How the students learn depends on how they are being er teaching my students, there is alway assements at the end of every topic m the assements,I am able to record the progress of each student.
Finally,I don't just teach based on curriculum while following the curriculum I take my students back to what they need to know as I teach what is in the curriculum. This has helped alot in achieving our goal.
