The sessions are conducted on Miro, an interactive platform that allows collaborative work in real time. Exercises are written, discussed, and corrected directly on the board, which creates an environment similar to working face to face. When required, I provide concise course reviews and additional explanations to consolidate core knowledge and ensure that essential concepts are well understood. Because the entire learning process takes place on Miro, the use of both a computer and a graphics tablet is mandatory for effective participation.

The programme covers the full range of mathematics topics required for the GCSE examination:

Number: approximations, fractions, ratio and proportion, percentages.

Algebra: expressions (expanding and factorising), powers and roots, formulas, equations (linear, quadratic, and simultaneous), inequalities, sequences, functions.

Geometry and measures: angles and 2D shapes, circle geometry, units and estimation, compound measures, constructions, Pythagoras’ theorem, trigonometry, vectors, transformations, congruence and similarity, perimeter, area, and volume of solids.

Graphs and representations: straight-line graphs, other types of graphs, and the use of graphs in problem-solving.

Statistics and probability: data collection and organisation, averages and range, data representation, simple and conditional probability.

Depending on the student’s individual needs, certain areas may be emphasised or revisited for additional practice. I also use GeoGebra, a dynamic geometry software, whenever visual demonstrations can help clarify abstract ideas.

These tutorials are designed specifically for students preparing for the GCSE (Key Stage 4). They aim to reinforce fundamental knowledge, improve conceptual understanding, and develop reliable problem-solving techniques in line with examination requirements. As this is my first time teaching in English, I am offering an introductory rate to my initial group of students.
