I have been a volunteer tutor at my school for 3 years and worked as a self employed tutor for 8 months, teaching mathematics, science, humanities, English, SAT and debating. I have also specifically tutored the IB Curriculum for Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics. With this experience, I am confident that I can adapt to a wide range of learning styles and identify what my student needs. I am a very flexible tutoring and aim to teach students in the way they learn the best. For mathematics and science, I usually help my students with problems that they're struggling with, showing step by step how I approach that problem and particularly what I'm thinking while I'm solving the problem. The work we do in the lesson is done in a OneNote book that I share with my students to ensure they can revise the material later. If my student is struggling with a concept, I will explain it with examples and walk through problems with them. I aim to show different ways of doing the problem so that my students can understand the concept better and see which way makes the most sense for them. I also encourage student input while solving problems so that they can actively engage with the content. I always ensure to take questions as we go and make sure to ask throughout the lesson if my students have any questions. I am also happy for my students to contact me throughout the week if they have any questions they need help with.
