My maths lessons are designed to be engaging, supportive, and tailored to the individual needs of each pupil. I believe that every child can enjoy and succeed in mathematics when concepts are explained clearly and lessons are structured to build confidence step by step.
Each lesson begins with a short review of prior knowledge, ensuring pupils feel secure before moving on. I use clear explanations, worked examples, and guided practice, before gradually encouraging pupils to attempt problems independently. I frequently check understanding through questioning and mini-assessments, adapting the pace to suit the learner. Lessons are interactive and may include the use of mini whiteboards, problem-solving activities, or visual aids to make abstract concepts more accessible.
I have taught pupils in Years 3–6 through private tuition, where many achieved significant progress within six months. I also recently completed my PGCE in Secondary Mathematics (June 2025), which has given me valuable classroom experience teaching Years 7–11. This training has deepened my knowledge of effective teaching strategies, assessment for learning, and supporting learners with different needs.
Whether working with primary pupils who are building their foundations or secondary pupils preparing for assessments, I create lessons that are calm, encouraging, and enjoyable. My aim is always to make mathematics less intimidating and more rewarding, helping each learner to gain confidence, develop problem-solving skills, and make measurable progress in their studies.
