I have been teaching English for 7years ,I have taught Koreans and Japanese who have been to Africa to work as volunteers. Most of my students have been adults.
NB 1.Teaching adults needs understanding them before you teach I think it gives you an approach on where and how to handle them .
2. Being patient with a student is very important too. Before I begin the lesson I have to first know where you fall in the levels of English ( Beginner , intermediate or proficient) this helps you me know to the topics to teach and hence making it easy for the student.
3.lessons planning , I do always create a lesson plan for each level by combining various methods of teaching that allow maximum transfer and retention of Knowledge.
4 . I do adapt to my students that am teaching this helps me evaluate what’s working for my students.
5. When it comes to online English teaching, communication skills play a vital role in delivering, discussing, or explaining lessons to my students no matter the age or skill level. I do use body movements to establish rules during lessons by gesturing “look and listen “this helps them to pay more attention
Lastly I speak slowly and make my vocabulary and sentences simple and easy to understand, especially when teaching beginners.
All in all am a teacher who loves her job and i always make the difficult language for you easy to speak and write it thank you !!
