I structure my lessons using a clear, student-centred format focusing on cognitive load theory. This typically follows an 'i do, we do, you do' model, incorporating chunked instruction, mini whiteboard activities for formative assessment, frequent plenaries to demonstrate progress. Lessons are differentiated. especially for SEN and EAL students, using simplified instruction, visual scaffolding and the use of example answer for extended writing tasks.

My content delivery covers a broad spectrum of Geography, with particular strength in physical geography- including coasts, rivers, hazards and climate change. I bring global context to my teaching of disaster management (a previous career which had me experiencing hazards first hand), integrating case students from around the world and drawing on personal insights and academic knowledge, This real-world focus helps student better understand the socio-economic and environmental impacts of disasters globally and makes the content more relatable and engaging
