My lessons are structured yet flexible, always tailored to suit the individual needs and goals of each student. For GCSE English, I focus heavily on building exam confidence—breaking down mark schemes, practising past papers, and helping students master the techniques needed for both Language and Literature papers.
A typical session might begin with a short warm-up—such as a vocabulary challenge or writing task—before moving into targeted work on a specific skill or topic. This could include analysing texts, strengthening essay structure, or tackling those tricky exam-style questions. I use a variety of materials and methods, from annotated extracts and visual prompts to creative tasks, ensuring lessons stay engaging, interactive, and effective.
One of my main goals as a tutor is to create a relaxed, open space where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow in confidence. As a current university student training to become a qualified English teacher, I bring not only subject knowledge but also a relatable, down-to-earth approach. I understand the pressure of exams because I’ve been through it myself—not long ago! Being closer in age helps me connect with students and create a space where they feel understood, supported, and motivated.
With experience tutoring a range of learners and a deep passion for English, I aim to help every student improve their skills, boost their grades, and develop lasting confidence in themselves and their work. Whether you're aiming for a pass or pushing for top marks, I'm here to help you every step of the way.
