My Geography tutoring lessons are structured but relaxed, designed to build confidence as well as subject knowledge. Each session is tailored to each student’s needs, usually beginning with a clear recap of prior learning before moving on to new content. I am able to assess the level students are currently at and the level they need to be at and tailor a support programme to develop their learning. As a BSc Geography graduate and current student teacher, I bring strong subject expertise alongside up-to-date classroom practice, using clear explanations, visual resources, and guided questioning to support understanding. Lessons are interactive and supportive, with a focus on developing both knowledge and exam technique in a calm, encouraging environment. Once I know what the student needs from me, I tailor specific lesson plans which I know will benefit them.

I also create custom flashcards and revision notes which will be tailored to ones own specific needs. By having materials to help you study and revise your content knowledge deepens and your confidence increases. Exam question practise is key in feeling prepared, and I will use both guided and solo practise in my sessions. As a student teacher this allows me to mark these questions with accuracy and give feedback which will push the learner forward.

I use a range of evidence-informed teaching techniques, including retrieval practice, modelling, and scaffolded questioning to help students secure key concepts and apply them independently. Misconceptions are addressed explicitly through worked examples and targeted feedback, ensuring students understand not just what the answer is, but why. I adapt my teaching in response to ongoing assessment during the lesson, adjusting pace and support as needed to maximise progress. Clear learning goals and regular opportunities for reflection help students track their improvement and build confidence over time.
