I want my lessons to be friendly, relaxed and enjoyable, while still helping students make real progress. I am genuinely passionate about psychology and love being able to explain ideas in a way that makes them easier to understand.
Every lesson can be tailored to the student. We might work through a difficult topic together, practise exam questions, improve essay structure, revise key theories and studies, or focus on exam technique. I like to break complicated concepts down into smaller, manageable parts and encourage students to ask questions rather than simply memorising information.
I am patient and happy to explain something in different ways until it makes sense. I also believe that students learn best when they feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions, so I aim to create a supportive environment where there is no pressure to already know everything. We can work at a pace that suits the student, revisit areas that need more attention and build on their existing knowledge as their confidence develops.
My aim is to help students not only improve their grades, but also become more confident in their own ability to understand and apply psychology. I want students to leave each lesson feeling that they have made progress and have a clearer understanding of the subject.
Having recently completed my BSc in Psychology and Cognitive Neuroscience and now studying an MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience, I have a strong and up-to-date understanding of the subject and of what is expected from psychology students. I can draw on my own experience of studying psychology to share useful approaches to revision, essay writing, research methods and exam preparation.
