Hello my name is Mollie and I’m currently a student at De Montfort University. I am currently studying forensic science, with hopes of continuing on to do a masters next year. I have previous experience with tutoring which started in school, as we had a programme set up to help any younger students who were struggling with various subjects. English is my strongest subject and I obtained a grade 8 at GCSE in both English Language and English Literature. In my A levels I took subjects that were mainly essay and exam based, such as criminology. I also tutored people throughout GCSE year and my A levels who struggled with English or creative writing in general. However, this is my first time posting an online ad.
My methodology is unique as I believe learning isn’t always linear. Therefore, I like to establish the best way that my students retain information. This could range from flash cards, helpful videos, exam practice or tailored PowerPoints that I will produce to help them revise and understand how to obtain the best mark possible. I am also aware students are incredibly busy therefore, I will rarely set homework but will always suggest they look at a helpful resource I have found or a video. In addition to this, especially around exam season I believe it is crucial to practice therefore, I will most likely ask my student to answer a exam question in our lesson which we will then analyse together to see what could of been done differently or what was positive about their response.
Lastly, yes they are my student however I am not their teacher and will not be expected to be addressed as such. I also will be there to help them with any other worries like exam stress or if they need advice in any other subjects.
