I offer relaxed, one-to-one online lessons tailored to each student’s needs. I usually start by being familiar with the students exam boards, roughly sketching the weak bonds from the specification,
identify potential gaps in content or understanding and then build up from there.
I tend to use my notes to clearly demonstrate the content, i.e. A -> B -> C diagrams, and categorising content under a similarity, using clear explanations from my notes, exam-style practice, and active recall techniques like mnemonics where useful.
Students tend to become overwhelmed with the content, but start to become A* students when they can easily identify commonalities to simply remember and choose the right answer in an exam.
My focus is more towards helping students actually understand the concepts rather than just memorising them, but both are needed.
I’ve worked through a large number of past papers and I am familiar with what an exam board tend to look for, including common mistakes and mark scheme patterns. This helps me guide students in a more exam-focused way so they can avoid easy marks being lost.
I have completed GCSE Triple Science with the AQA exam board, computer science with OCR and maths with Edexcel. At A-Level, I have completed OCR A-Level Biology, OCR B Salters Chemistry and Edexcel Mathematics.
Lessons are interactive and adaptable — if something isn’t clicking, I’ll approach it from a different angle until it does. I also make sure there’s regular practice so students build confidence over time, not just short-term understanding.
