I am a Prime Minister’s Research Fellow in the final stage of my PhD at SeNSE, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.
Defining the specification, designing the analog and mixed-signal front-end, verifying it in simulation, producing multilayer PCBs in Altium Designer, and bringing up, debugging and validating the boards with standard laboratory instruments is the complete cycle for the hardware prototype. I have completed this cycle for several sensor-interface systems, each resulting in a working proof-of-concept prototype and a peer-reviewed publication or a manuscript under review. I use STM32 microcontrollers for data acquisition and device control. I can therefore take responsibility for the project’s electronics from concept to prototype. Alongside board-level work, I have designed circuits in 65 nm technology node.
My research addresses problems that arise in sensor readouts, such as limited range, non-linearity, lead-wire resistance, and leakage during human contact, and solving them has taught me to design electronics around the sensor's behaviour and to address these issues at the system or firmware level. I also analyse sensor data in MATLAB and am applying machine learning to separate sensor drift from meaningful signal, experience.
