When it comes to 1-1 Maths tutoring, the structure of my lessons are as follows:
First minutes: Introducing the topic we're studiyng, it's relevance in terms of the papers or exams it shows up in etc. Working through a question showing the student the method and thinking processes required to answer the question.
30 - 40 minutes: Spent on the student's going through the worksheet and attempting the questions independently, whilst I'm still available to help them in case they get stuck on a problem, etc.
Last few minutes of the lesson: Going over the key pointers and tricks that would help them with answering questions, as well as asking them if there's anything in the topic they find confusing.
The dynamics of my lessons are usually quite friendly and easygoing, as I believe that it's better to teach maths in an environment that doesn't feel too pressuring, however I do prioritise professionalism, where rudeness and disrespect is not tolerated. Joking around a little however is okay, but I would be the type of tutor to encourage you to refocus on the task.
