I'm passionate about improving students confidence and intend to enable each and every one of my students to find genuine enjoyment in studying English. My determination to achieve this stems from my own academic journey. My personal academic trajectory was a complex one. Growing up dyslexic, placed in bottom set English and being told it was unlikley I would achieve higher than a grade four, I worked hard to rally against the academic expectations imposed on me and, through persistent hard work, bought myself to a place in which the subject not only now comes natrualy to me but is my primary passion and greatest academic strength. Consequently, I have a particular interest in cultivating an empathetic and rigorous teaching approach that fosters love for English in those who may initially find the subject daunting and frustrating. I aim to make every student feel valued, capable and intelligent and, in my current work, place emphasis on an accsessible and interactive approach to English using frequent high energy games and colour coding activities to keep lessons fresh and focussed. I believe every child, no matter the extent to which they may struggle with English, has the capacity to suceed when nutured and encouraged and I would love to expand my work to new students.
