Millie Blagg

My name is Millie, and I am passionate about helping students build confidence and achieve their academic goals. I achieved a 1st in my first year studying Chemistry and Maths at the University of Leeds, and I have experience tutoring students taking both their GCSE's and A-Levels. Throughout this time, I have supported learners with diverse needs, including those aiming for top grades as well as students who needed confidence-building tuition to pass their exams.

My Lessons will be structured to maximise engagement and understanding. I typically begin with a short recap to reinforce previous learning followed by a clear, step-by-step explanation of new topics using examples and interactive questioning to check comprehension throughout. I then guide students through practice questions to identify areas of misunderstanding, gradually encouraging independent work to consolidate their skills. Each session will end with a concise summary of what went well and a goal for our next session. I will however adapt my teaching style to suit individual students, using visual aids, past papers and revision templates to simplify complex topics and keep lessons dynamic and engaging.

I believe I would be an excellent tutor as I combine strong subject knowledge with patience, empathy and genuine commitment to student progress. I foster a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and view mistakes as opportunities to learn. I am organised and will ensure that every lesson is tailored to meet specific learning objectives while nurturing students' confidence and motivation. Ultimately, I believe every learner can succeed with the right guidance, structured teaching, and encouragement, and I am dedicated to providing exactly that in each of my lessons.
