I teach 45 minutes or 60 minutes lesson usually a combination of introducing theoretical concepts and examples of the real political world. The focus is on analysing a specific theme or topic through the contemporary theories of politics and also through studying key thinkers from a particular historical period.
Discussing the topic is at the core of the lesson. I encourage and help the student to express an informed opinion, to write essays with confidence. I offer a structured critical thinking and analytical analysis of historical events and current affairs.
Writing essays, developing arguments, presenting evidence, analysing concepts, demonstrating an ability to handle resources and crucially expressing your own views effectively and in a balanced way. In political science arguments are as essential as concepts and facts for achieving great results.
I specialise in nationalism, national identity, the history of the nation-state in Europe, European Union politics, post-colonialism, British and European politics, populism and history of the Balkans.
I have taught at the UCL-SSEES and the University of Reading and fully understand the standards of high-education. I know how to teach and help a student to go through a vast volume of reading material and synthesise the essence in order to write a great essay or prepare for an exam for excellent results.
I can motivate you to achieve your potential in history and politics, which are also at the basis of international relations. I believe in clear communication with the student. It is the student's needs which are at the centre of the lesson.
