I taught Key Stage 2 for over 20 years, in both private and state schools. Throughout my career, I have found particular satisfaction in supporting children through one-to-one sessions, where I can focus on their individual needs and help them achieve their full potential.
I enjoy building positive relationships with children and creating a safe, supportive environment in which they feel valued, understood, and confident to take on new challenges. By identifying each child's strengths and areas for development, I tailor learning activities and strategies to meet their specific needs, enabling them to make progress at their own pace.
A key aspect of my work is helping children develop self-belief and resilience. I take pride in encouraging pupils who may lack confidence, celebrating their achievements, and helping them recognise their own capabilities. Through patience, encouragement, and targeted support, I aim to foster independence and a positive attitude towards learning.
Seeing children grow in confidence, engage more fully in their learning, and develop the skills they need to succeed is one of the most rewarding aspects of my role.
In addition, I have experience supporting children in preparation for entrance examinations. I provide targeted one-to-one tuition that focuses on strengthening core skills in English, mathematics, verbal reasoning, and non-verbal reasoning, according to each child's needs. By building confidence alongside academic ability, I help pupils approach examinations with a positive mindset and effective study strategies. I take pride in helping children develop the knowledge, resilience, and self-belief required to perform at their best and achieve successful outcomes.
