Tennis was always a passion of mine from a very young age. Through playing as a junior I quickly came to realise that teaching tennis was what I wanted to do as a career. I considered it a gift to be able to turn my passion and hobby into my day job.
I have 20 years experience teaching players of all ages across all abilities. I have spent most of my career teaching tennis in private members clubs and school settings. I specialise working with players competing and the training that goes into that setting. I’m very much a perfectionist when it comes to technique so I enjoy helping people develop good technique. When a new student approaches me I like to find out their goals, and what they would like to achieve from their lessons. This helps me to plan their coaching journey. When teaching technique I like to use video footage of past and present players as a good template of how it’s done. Players/students generally respond well to this kind of visual coaching. I have a fairly strong playing level which appeals to students/players who are just looking for hitting sessions rather than technical sessions. For those players/students looking to use tennis to help improve their exercise then I can offer a cardio tennis as a session, which would need 4/6 people. This type of session concentrates purely on exercise but also appears to be a fun introduction to tennis. The most important factor is that people are enjoying their tennis sessions.
