Welcome to my profile ??
I have worked as a maths teacher, Head of Maths and Assistant Headteacher for over 15 years, however currently I lecture student maths teachers remotely for Coventry University's online teacher training centre The Institute of Teaching and Education, where I am the Maths Lead.
Being an expert practitioner I structure my lessons around up to date research into optimising pupil understanding and learning, and I have experience of working with a variety of pupils with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, and Dyscalculia.
I did not find maths easy at school and that is my "super power". I can easily empathise with pupils who find maths difficult, help them feel successful and build on the confidence that brings. I always approach my work with kindness and patience.
I base my lessons on 'gap analysis' assessing areas of weakness, misunderstanding and misconception so my lessons are planned specifically to improve knowledge rather than regurgitating already known content.
I am happy to do lessons with 2-3 pupils online simultaneously which in turn will lower the cost per individual.
For face to face lessons at the pupils home I charge £40 payable in advance.
I am originally from Denmark, but I have lived in the UK for over 30 years now so I speak English like a native :-) I am a mother of two young ladies, and I have several year's experience tutoring maths to teenagers both in their home as well as remotely.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me so we can explore how I can support you.
With very kind regards
Mette
