I have always believed in learning by doing. So I always like the students to have a hands-on practice while learning a new concept. I think a student needs to go through stages of development while creating a project - something they choose and like- and while working on that project they learn. So I will teach a new concept and then ask you to add that to your existing main project. And if you dint want to work on a project, i will help you go through examples.
