I love to go with what the student feels comfortable with. I am very happy to create Powerpoints with explanations and images if the student learns better that way. Or perhaps they would rather just talk about what they are learning as they are not a visual learner. I would always recommend that the student has a notebook and pen or a Word document open so they can take notes. If they have books from their school that they are allowed to use, they can also use those. I would imagine that students may have worksheets from their teachers that they need to finish for homework, and we can also work through those together as long as it relates to English in some way. For example, writing a short story or picking out adjectives from a paragraph.

While the student can always ask me for help, I do not intend to do all the work for them and I'd prefer if they problem-solved at some points if they get confused. However, if they really cannot do the work, I will definitely step in and assist them.
