Experience:
I have experience facilitating creative workshops and one-to-one art sessions across diverse community and educational settings. My work has included supporting children, young people, and adults in developing artistic skills, self-expression, and confidence through drawing, painting, and mixed-media processes. I have also worked within care and therapeutic contexts, where I encouraged emotional expression through artmaking. Currently, as a trainee Art Psychotherapist, I integrate reflective and person-centred approaches into my teaching and creative facilitation.
Qualities:
I am an empathetic, patient, and reflective educator who values the individuality of each learner. My background in art therapy training has strengthened my ability to listen deeply, offer constructive feedback, and create a safe and encouraging learning space. I am highly organised, adaptable to different learning needs, and skilled at maintaining student engagement in both online and in-person environments. My enthusiasm for art and belief in its transformative potential drive my teaching practice.
Teaching Methods:
My teaching style combines structure with creative exploration. I begin by understanding each student’s goals and learning style, then design sessions that balance technical skill development with conceptual thinking and personal expression. I use visual demonstrations, step-by-step guidance, and reflective discussions to deepen understanding. In online settings, I incorporate digital tools, visual references, and interactive tasks to keep sessions engaging and dynamic. I also encourage students to develop their own artistic voice through experimentation and critical reflection on their work.
