Hi, I'm Meg! My aim is to make Geography feel relevant, understandable, and achievable, while helping students reach their full potential. I achieved an A at A Level Geography, a grade 9 at GCSE, and a 2:1 degree at university. I am currently working in sustainability and studying for a Master’s in Sustainability, which allows me to bring up-to-date context relating to case-studies into lessons, particularly around climate change, development, and social aspects. I have studied both human and physical geography, and am passionate about them both because they are so relevant to everyday life!
My Geography lessons are structured, engaging, and tailored to each student’s goals and learning style. I teach both GCSE and A Level Geography, supporting students with content understanding, exam technique, and confidence building.
Lessons follow a clear format. We begin by identifying key topics or exam skills to focus on, then break these down into manageable sections using clear explanations, diagrams, and linking heavily to case-studies so they become very familiar. Geography is a broad topic, and so the teaching must be flexible to identify individual difficulty areas and address them. For exam sessions, we regularly practise exam questions, analyse mark schemes, and develop effective essay structures, with a focus on using case studies accurately and critically.
My teaching style is interactive and supportive. I encourage students to ask questions, explain ideas in their own words, and actively engage with the material. Lessons are adapted to suit different learning styles, whether that involves visual resources, discussion, or step-by-step guidance. I also set optional tasks or revision strategies between sessions to help students consolidate their learning. As someone who has been through GCSE and A Level geography relatively recently, I am exceptionally prepared on the content as well as the feeling of secondary school Geography and the requirements to reach different grades.
I look forward to working with you!
