I use Google Meets for my online lessons and they are each 1 hour long! The first lesson will be focused on learning more about the student, how they revise and what their weaknesses are within the specific subject. From there, I plan lessons based around the topics the student finds difficult and I ensure there is a good balance between theory lessons and application lessons (completing questions).
I make sure that the student feels comfortable and confident to raise any questions and to tell me when they don't understand anything or needs extra help with a certain topic. It is important that a safe learning environment is nurtured to help the student excel with their academics.
I have lots of experience with different types of students, different types of learning requirements and revision techniques. I personally focus on active recall and base my lessons around this technique as it is the most efficient way of learning and will help the student with long-term retention.
I want to make learning fun an enjoyable and hopefully the student will feel this way once having a few lessons with me!!
