Digital Painting Courses
I offer four unique digital painting courses delivered as one-to-one online classes over 4–6 weeks. Sessions run weekly for 1 hour and 30 minutes and are designed to help students develop both technical skills and artistic confidence.
Photoshop Painting Basics
An Introduction to Digital Painting in Photoshop (4-week course)
(Beginner friendly)
This course introduces students to the core tools and techniques used in digital painting with Adobe Photoshop. Together, we will explore brushwork, layers, clipping masks, blending modes, and texture creation to help you build a strong foundation in digital art.
Each session introduces new techniques and practical exercises designed to improve your workflow, confidence, and understanding of the painting process. Whether you are completely new to digital painting or looking to strengthen your fundamentals, this course will help you begin your artistic journey with confidence.
Colour Theory & Brush Control
(6-week course)
(Intermediate/ Aspiring Professionals)
This course focuses on developing confidence and control in the use of colour within digital painting. You will deepen your understanding of the colour wheel, colour temperature, harmony, contrast, and lighting, while learning how colour can communicate mood and emotion.
Through studies in portraiture, landscapes, abstraction, and still life, we will explore how to create compelling colour palettes and expressive lighting. By the end of the course, you will have a stronger understanding of how to use colour intentionally and effectively within your work.
Landscape Painting:
Establishing Scene & Perspective (6-week course)
(Beginner/ Intermediate)
This course is designed to help students create beautiful and convincing landscape paintings. You will learn how to observe and simplify the elements of a landscape from both reference and life, developing the skills needed to create visually engaging environments.
Topics include shape design, composition, value structure, colour temperature, atmospheric perspective, and visual storytelling. The course will help you build immersive worlds and create landscapes with greater clarity, depth, and appeal.
Portrait Painting & Illustration:
Building Likeness & Expression (6-week course)
(Beginner/ Intermediate)
In this course, you will learn how to capture character, likeness, and emotion through portrait painting. We will explore facial structure, feature placement, head construction, and posing from multiple angles, while also developing expressive and stylised approaches to portraiture.
This is not purely a realism-based course; it is focused on understanding the face as a powerful tool for communication and storytelling. We will study influences ranging from classical sculptors and painters to contemporary animation and comic artists to broaden your understanding of portrait design and expression.
My Teaching Approach:
Alongside the weekly sessions, I provide timely feedback, paint-overs, and regular check-ins to support your progress throughout the course.
My teaching approach is student-focused and adaptable to your individual interests, goals, and learning style. I aim to provide both strong technical foundations and creative guidance while encouraging students to develop their own artistic voice.
Students will also complete weekly assignments designed to reinforce the lessons and encourage the application of new skills within their own personal work.
