Hello! My name is Matthew, and I am a Geography graduate with a Merit in my PGCE in Secondary Geography. I specialise in supporting GCSE students who want to build their knowledge, boost their confidence, and improve their grades.

In my lessons, I focus on making Geography engaging and easy to understand. I use real-world examples, interactive activities, and step-by-step explanations to break down complex topics such as physical processes, human geography, map skills, and fieldwork. I believe that Geography should never feel like a list of facts to memorise – it should be exciting, relevant, and connected to the world around us.

Each lesson is tailored to the needs of the individual student. At the start, I identify key areas of strength and areas that need more focus. From there, I build structured lessons that balance content knowledge with exam technique. For students preparing for GCSE exams, I make regular use of past paper questions to build confidence and improve exam skills. For those who need more general support, I create interactive tasks and activities to strengthen their understanding at their own pace.

My experience in both classroom teaching and 1-to-1 support has helped me develop patience, adaptability, and a positive approach to learning. I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their ideas. Above all, my goal is to help students enjoy Geography while achieving their academic potential.
