Matthew John Gunn

Hello, my name is Matthew J Gunn. I'm a commissioned screenwriter and film tutor. I have tutored workshops at universities, colleges and schools across the creative arts (Film, TV, Stage and Novels). I specialize in Creative Writing (scripts & novels), Directing, Producing, and Film Theory.

My lessons are for all ages and can be tailored to all levels. From MA, Degree, A Level, GSCE, to both adult and younger workshops. Anyone who wants help or guidance to ignite their flair and ambition in creative writing and film-making. I continue to mentor students if they wish to pursue a career in the entertainment industry.

As a writer and producer I have had feature screenplays released and distributed worldwide. Award nominations at LA Neo Noir, LA Cinefest, London Portobello Road. Stage plays I’ve written have been performed at venues including Rhoda McGraw, New Victoria, and London Courtyard. As an author I have four fiction books published and recently a book on film history called Noir, Nihilism, and Crime, The Forgotten Films. I believe this first-hand industry knowledge is invaluable to anyone wishing to break into entertainment industry.

Collaboration and commitment as a tutor is the key. With anyone who wants help or guidance to ignite their flair and ambition in creative writing and film-making. My motto is ‘Never give up on your dreams. Believe in yourself, through dedication and hard work, you can achieve anything’.
