Matthew Brittain

I am a UK native speaker with over 15 years' experience teaching English in Language schools, UK university campuses, one-to-one and in companies. I love authentic communication, humour and enjoyment in my classes, and I like my classes to be focused on my students' development aims. As well as working on fluency, pronunciation and language acquisition, I am very experienced in preparing students for exams, particularly IELTS and university entry exams, and have a great deal of experience helping students achieve real progress in their academic writing. My methods are essentially communicative, but I have also developed a repertoire of techniques for working on a range of issues which students experience as they develop in their use of English. I am also comfortable using interactive learning technologies, such as Wordwall activities to aid language development.

My interests are varied and wide, but I particularly love history, politics, science, psychology and philosophy. I am also a keen walker, a touring cyclist and a cat lover.
