I really want to emphasise that my main goal for tutoring is to help YOU - the student - be able to get the grades you want to move on to the next stage of your life
I want you be confident in answering exam questions but also be confident in the content on your specification (both will correlate so typically if you understand your content well then you should know what to answer the exam questions with)
What you might find difficult even if you know the content well enough is exam technique - basically can you write an answer that actually hits the marking points from the mark scheme
If you have lessons with me, I will usually ask if there is anything in particular you want to work on / you find difficult. We would then work on this throughout the lesson and if there is time then I will put up some exam style questions to test your understanding
I generally prefer if you can let me know beforehand (ie before we have our first lesson) the topics you struggle with as this will save time and we can dive straight into the content
I sometimes set some work (question packs / exam questions) for you to do outside of lessons. This is to help consolidate your learning and to make sure you are able to answer the questions using methods we've worked through in the lesson
As we get closer to exam whether internal (school mock exams) or the actual GCSE / A Levels we will be focusing more on exam technique and exam questions
