I believe in getting to know the students I work with as it provides the foundation on which lessons can be built. I don't believe in the traditional strict regiments implied within standard education and that everyone learns in different ways, therefore how can a subject be taught in only one way. So a lesson plan can be created and followed but I have found that most people learn better when they feel directly involved and feel free to speak up when issues arise.
Having provided private tutoring in the past and leading study groups within my time at university I have had the opportunity to work with people of different backgrounds and levels of skill aiding them to achieve greater heights than what they first thought. This was a very humbling experience as it showed me that there is not only just one way of thinking and and one way to solve a problem but many ways, some of which I would have never thought of and so think it's very important to provide a platform in which free discussion is encouraged.
I think most subjects are better taught through experience rather than theory and so during my time I have tried to relate problems to my proffesional career and break the problem down into manageable sections, which allows me to think more clearly and provide more detail then if I was to just follow a recipe.
I want to help people succeed in everything they do and offer as much support and guidance that I possibly can.
