I’m a filmmaker and educator with over twenty years of experience teaching Film Studies, media, and visual storytelling. My lessons combine critical thinking, creativity, and practical insight to help students truly understand how films work — both as art forms and as powerful tools of communication.
My teaching method is flexible and student-centred. I adapt to each learner’s goals, whether it’s improving essay writing, mastering film analysis, preparing for exams, or developing creative projects. Together, we explore key theories, cinematic language, genres, and the social and cultural meanings behind films.
I use clips, readings, and examples from world cinema to make lessons engaging and relevant. I encourage open discussion, curiosity, and personal interpretation — because studying film should always be both analytical and enjoyable.
I’ve taught at colleges and universities for many years, guiding students from GCSE to degree level. My focus is always on helping learners build confidence, clarity, and independence in their ideas.
In my lessons, film becomes more than just a subject: it’s a lens through which we understand stories, people, and the world.
