Hello! I'm Maryam, a medical student with two years of tutoring experience, offering GCSE tuition in Biology, Maths, Chemistry and Physics. My aim is to help students build confidence, strengthen their understanding, and achieve the grades they're capable of through engaging, personalised lessons.
What my lessons are like
Every lesson is tailored to the individual student, so no two sessions are exactly the same. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, because that's where real learning happens.
A typical 60-minute lesson includes:
* A quick recap using active recall to reinforce previous learning.
* Clear, step-by-step teaching of the day's topic with diagrams, worked examples and simple explanations.
* Guided practice with GCSE exam-style questions and mark schemes to improve both knowledge and exam technique.
My teaching approach
Rather than encouraging memorisation, I focus on helping students understand the logic behind each topic. Whether it's genetics, algebra, chemical calculations or physics equations, I break complex ideas into manageable steps that are easy to apply in exams.
With two years of experience tutoring GCSE students, I've supported learners with a wide range of abilities—from those looking to improve their confidence to students aiming for the highest grades. I adapt the pace, resources and teaching style to suit each learner's goals.
My goal is not just to improve results, but to help students become independent, resilient learners who feel genuinely confident walking into their GCSE exams.
