I am highly motivated to identify and develop potential in people. I have 20 years’ experience of identity and career coaching, and 30 years’ experience teaching in UK, Europe and USA, Australia and Canada, training and mentoring in the performing arts sector, with all age groups from a variety of backgrounds and cultures including working in the areas of SEND and with young people with behavioural challenges.
I possess strong values of authenticity, fairness, harmony, appropriateness and relevance. I have a particular interest in engaging people one on one and in groups, enabling them to recognise their own potential and live it out.
I have strong imaginative abilities, working in concepts and ideas, being intuitive, having strong sensory awareness and a desire to create a healthy and inspiring environment wherever I operate, and I use humour and empathy to achieve this. I flourish when able to communicate creatively, verbally and in writing. I like to develop my personal expertise and excellence and thereby fulfil my role effectively. I identify the connections and dynamics of a situation, group or person, and work efficiently.
I am motivated to make whatever I do right and correct, to extract potential from a situation or person and to make an impact on people and situations, bringing development and change.

I had a background since childhood in semi-professional dance (ballet, jazz and modern) and classical voice before training in Acting and Theatre as a mature student at the Academy of Performing Arts, Ontario, followed by a year's apprenticeship with a professional company 1994. Since then, I have been acting professionally and teaching acting and drama skills mainly in youth and student theatre contexts: Stagecoach, The XL Project, The Pauline Quirk Academy and Oxford Royale Academy and many others, including coaching for LAMDA and Trinity exams. Since 2007, I have been writing, producing and directing my own plays in professional and community contexts with my company TouchPoint Productions. I side-stepped into film in 2017, making an award-winning short film "Seeing Grace". I was awarded Grade One excellence for teaching skills, am DBS checked, am a qualified Careers/Life Coach and experienced Learning Support Coach.
My theatre/film production and teaching work has involved the following very useful transferrable skills and understanding that I can use in career guidance: Writing curricula, fund-raising, budgeting, book keeping, scheduling, publicity, organising venues, writing policies, safeguarding, teaching/training students, organising events/performances, exams administration; recruitment and casting, logistics, hiring and managing contractors, venue and technicians; planning, scheduling, training stage managers and backstage crew, mentoring and training apprentices and volunteers, delegating and overseeing logistical and promotional work; ensuring project is managed in detail (scheduling, acquiring of materials and contracting; scouting locations, engaging contractors, meals provision, risk assessment, Insurance etc. working with school departments; liaising with parents and staff.
