Mary-Rita Mcguire

I am first and foremost a Drama teacher! Therefore most of my lessons will have a creative twist to them. I can bring literature to life through embodying the characters and working with the language as an actor would. My lessons are about channeling all the senses and offering a diverse learning environment for my students.
I also want to support young people, and my 15 years experience with teenagers from being a teacher, youth team leader and support worker, as well as my qualifications in facilitating creative expressive workshops, really gives me a unique set of tools to create a holistic and achievable path for my students in their personal and professional development.
I am also an accredited depth coach and hold an MSc in Consciousness, Spirituality and Transpersonal Psychology and have many models of working available to me.
I like to engage students through role play, creative exploration and peer work. I create opportunities to create projects as a group and develop skills on a 1-1 basis.
I believe that we can all learn from each other and the classroom is an egalitarian space where everyone's voice is equal.
I create opportunities for you to become a self sufficient leader through projects and encourage independent thought through discussions and debates.
In addition, the fundamental elements of teaching English and Drama are also at the forefront of my lessons. I am also an advocate for reflective practice and encourage my students to keep a journal to build their understanding of their own personal journey.
