I have one year experience as a tutor in social science subjects.
To ensure that students understand I use different techniques which I will reveal when the lessons start.
I have taught in private schools with 100% pass rate ,I also ensure I give presentation and assignments.
I give chances to the students or the adults to ask where they don't understand and also giving the learners free will on how they want their lessons to be delivered and this can be through zoom and other online platforms.
I have taught both young and adults and with young I use different methods such as using questions and answers.
I ensure I research before introducing a topic to the learners ,for example the topic of substance abuse I make sure I put the learners in groups to discuss about what they know on substance abuse and when I see that they don't understand I make sure they understand what they were discussing.
Another learning technique I use is assessments in every topic I have taught I ensure they are given a test to see if they understood what they were taught.
Field work is what I also use to ensure that they learn through other people's ideas, for example using questionairs to gather information by going in communities and also other schools and this also turns out to be a research for the learners and after they are done I mark their work to see if the information was well gathered.
