My lessons are structured, purposeful, and highly interactive. I can adjust them to be more basic and simple to understand, creative and thought provoking, or in line with the standard curriculum.
Hence I use a clear learning objective and a short, engaging starter that activates prior knowledge and gets them thinking straight away. From there, I can take a direction of your choice, a mix of direct instruction—keeping explanations concise and visual—followed by guided practice where I model the thinking process out loud - or self learning strategies to encourage creative thinking.
For multiple students, I can then move into team-based or paired activities, because peer teaching is incredibly powerful. When students explain concepts to each other, both sides deepen their understanding, and it creates a collaborative atmosphere where everyone feels supported.
For groups I offer calm, thought provoking, and inclusive lessons: a space where students feel safe to get things wrong, embrace that as part of learning, and try again. I plan for varied abilities by incorporating scaffolds, challenge questions, and opportunities for students to reflect on their learning.
With my background in industry and commerce in science, maths, and quality-focused environments, I’m used to being precise, analytical, and adaptable. This carries through into my teaching: my explanations are clear, my routines are consistent, and my lessons are designed to build both subject knowledge and confidence. Ultimately, I want students to leave feeling curious, capable, and proud of the progress they’ve made.”
