I encourage my students to identify topics they would like to cover before each lesson that they would like to focus on. Then in the first half of the lesson I will talk through and explain the topic continuously asking them short answer questions to incorporate active recall. This is the best way to remember content long term. The second half we will apply this knowledge to past paper exam questions. This is key to revision. I found during my GCSEs and Alevels that talking through these difficult exam questions was the best way to deeply understand and consolidate the content. I then send the student extra exam questions to complete during the week if they wish to further there revision we can go over them in the next lesson or send them back to me to be marked.
My lessons are very flexible - times can be fixed or changed each week depending on the students busy work schedule.
