About me

My approach to teaching is focused around building a ground-up knowledge of what is going on, mathematically. Knowing what method to use and why to use it is more important to me than just memorising a broad exam template, as this often trips up students when in real exams.

My approach to teaching is focused around building a ground-up knowledge of what is going on, mathematically. Knowing what method to use and why to use it is more important to me than just memorising a broad exam template, as this often trips up students when in real exams.

A typical 60-minute lesson is split into three parts: a brief review of anything covered previously, focused teaching on a new concept or problem area, and then guided practice where the student works through questions themselves while I provide real-time feedback. I always leave a few minutes at the end to set a small task to consolidate what we've covered.

I'm currently studying BSc Finance at the London School of Economics (LSE), having achieved an A* in A-Level Mathematics and an A in Further Mathematics at Eton College. I achieved 10 nines at GCSE, with one 8, and this means I have a thorough command of everything up to GCSE level - so I know exactly what the mark schemes reward, where students commonly drop marks, and how to prepare effectively under exam conditions.

My lessons are aimed at students preparing for GCSE Maths (ages 13–16) and 11+/13+ entrance exams (ages 9–13). All lessons are delivered online via video call.
