Mariana Pereyra Pedrido

Hello! My name is Mariana and I'm originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I've been living in England since 2004, practically half my life! I'm also a language learner, I'm currently teaching myself Finnish because I want to move to Finland.

I'm a certified teacher for adults by Instituto Cervantes London and I've taught Spanish 1:1 for nearly 10 years. I offer structured online lessons and conversation lessons to learners at beginner and intermediate level.

What are regular lessons like?

Lessons normally have their own topic that helps students to understand grammar, vocabulary and so on. These concepts are worked using handouts, audio or written exercises that are used to then practise the concept speaking.

You will hear me delivering the lesson in Spanish. If you don’t understand me, I will explain in Spanish first and translate what I said into English, but I aim to speak in Spanish throughout the lesson, as I understand this may be the only chance you have to listen to a native speaker during the week.

I will give you homework so you can practise reading, listening and writing on the topic you learnt during the class.

I'm also a certified Life Coach, and I use coaching techniques to compliment my sessions. I'm also able to teach you learning, study and memory techniques.

As a Life Coach, I can also help you with challenges such as:
- Struggling with confidence or lacking the courage to speak. Fear of making mistakes.
- Feel like you're not making any progress
- Consistency and discipline
- Feeling overwhelmed and not knowing which order to complete learning tasks: analysis paralysis.
- Feel you don't have time to learn the language
- Need an accountability partner
