Maria Kapari

I have a PhD in Marine Biology from the University of London. I have also taught English as a foreign language to students of all ages as well as Environmental Science and Human Geography to secondary school students studying for their International Baccalaureate.

I like to keep the teaching style informal. I will get to know the interests of the student so that the lessons can be based around those to make them more interesting and fun.

I also describe a little about my own background which involved travelling from a young age with my parents to various countries where different languages were spoken and what that felt like. I also describe my own professional qualification in Marine Biology and my experience in the field as well as my own personal interests in tennis, diving, yoga and tai chi.

The lessons in summary will be based around real lifetime experiences and interests with the aim to make them as interesting and innovative as possible, and when required, will incorporate the requirements of formal education and qualification. The lessons need not be standardized but can be personalized to the interests, as well as requirements of each individual student to make the lessons more interactive and fun.

The lessons will range from the achievement of targeted qualification requirements to improvement of spelling, grammar and discussion in everyday life in an office or any other working environment.
